Eli is a central Indiana attorney passionate about helping his clients navigate difficult situations. Mr. Blackburn is a proud alum of the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and Purdue University. He has served the State of Indiana throughout his legal career as a Deputy Attorney General and Marion County Deputy Prosecutor.
He has extensive experience in commercial contract law and corporate legal counsel, with a focus on technology and service agreements across U.S. and international jurisdictions. His work involves drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and interpreting complex agreements such as SaaS contracts, NDAs, and professional services documents. He regularly advises both legal and business leadership on issues of compliance, risk management, dispute resolution, and contract interpretation.
Eli has also served as a team leader, mentoring colleagues, improving contract processes, and implementing operational efficiencies for new product launches. His background includes providing legal support to higher education institutions—notably Indiana University—on matters involving intellectual property, athletics, compliance, and public records law. Earlier experience includes litigation management, conducting bench trials, depositions, and evidentiary hearings, demonstrating a well-rounded skill set spanning transactional, advisory, and litigation functions.
As a law student, Eli was named to the Order of the Barristers, served in the Dean’s Tutorial Society, and represented McKinney School of Law in the International Trademark Association’s Saul Lefkowitz Competition. He gained legal experience as a judicial extern to Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steven David, an intern with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and a volunteer with Indiana Legal Services. Eli holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Purdue University and is admitted to practice in Indiana and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
